Daughter Projects

Team-member Katy Dickinson standing with Eileen Brewer holding the poster for the TechWomen Emerging Leaders from Africa and the Middle East.

This project is itself a daughter of the CRA-W and Anita Borg Institute Wikipedia Project – Writing Wikipedia Pages for Notable Women in Computing work that Katy Dickinson, Professor Susan H. Rodger (Professor of the Practice, Duke University), and others have been doing for years. Learn more and get involved in that work here: bit.ly/NotableW

We’ve heard from a number of women excited to move this idea forwards. There is one completed daughter deck–the Emerging Leaders in the Middle East and Africa Deck and Poster which you can pre-order or print yourself on this site.

Other decks we know are in the works:

  • A Spanish-language translation highlighting the impact of Mexican women
  • A basque-language translation highlighting the impact of Basque women
  • A left-handed deck

This is all possible because this project is licensed under Creative Commons, meaning anyone can download the source files and play as long as they don’t make money and do source us. Here are detailed instructions for how to get your deck printed.
